I got my first computer back in 1998. It turned out to be a lemon and within the year's warrantee every single part was replaced but because of it I turned into a bit of a computer nerd. I run both Windows and Linux. One of my favorite programs is Fractal Explorer. It has introduced me to art on the computer. I live in New York State, and I am doting grandmother of two. I love animals and have a cat and a bunny.

Updates the FAQ
I live in East Tennessee near Bristol, VA/TN - NASCAR fans will recognize that city.

I have a beautiful wife who is a special needs preschool assistant teacher, a daughter who is 4 years old, and a new baby VERY soon. We've been married almost 10 years now, and though we were separated for part of that we now have a very strong marriage.

I work in an optical lab making glasses for people. I really enjoy my work - it's an awesome feeling to watch someone have clear eyesight for the first time and know you made the glasses.

My other hobbies are surfing the web, keeping my ancient computer going and improving it, reading, origami, and making rosaries.

I have been making fractals for about 5 or 6 years, but didn't really get into it until 2004. I've always used Fractal Explorer to make fractals. I've tried other programs, but end up coming back to FE every time.

Fractal Explorer Gratis Collection (to be announced when finished)
I live near Seattle, have been married 23 years, and have a bright and gregarious eight-year-old daughter. I've always been drawn to natural forms in nature and to outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and skiing. But my attempts to capture natural forms through traditional arts have been a struggle and not satisfying. Fractal art and nature photography provide me an outlet for my need to create and my desire to explore natural forms. I found Fractal Explorer in May of 2003, and it is my favorite fractal tool.

I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.

I discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
My gallery at Renderosity is here

aka The FractalFairy
I live in Tennessee near Nashville with my 4 children.
I am a critical care trained LPN - a dying breed. The critical care school for LPN's has been discontinued. I keep saying I'm going to get my RN "someday" though I never get going on my schooling.
My online life began in 1996 and I've been going strong since then. I enjoy working on my computer immensely, especially when it comes to making images. The cool things you can do on the computer! Fascinating! Photoshop is one of my favorite programs on the computer and was worth every hard-earned penny.
In regards to the website, it began humbly on a free site - my very first website was a horror to view but I'll never forget the excitement I felt as I learned each new step of website design! What a wonderfully fullfilling and fascinating world I was opened up to! As an over-40ish woman I often think about how I wish the internet had been around when I was a teenager - I can tell you now I'd have been a website guru before the age of 15!
I discovered fractals in 2001 and tried several of the programs. FE was the easiest one to use and I was amazed to see that I could make some lovely images of my own. In that same year I joined a mailing list for FE which eventually evolved into this list. I still love making fractals and hope to continue on for many years to come.
I did want to mention that I now belong to another online membership called Sisters of the Golden Moon and if you wish to discover what they are about then just click on the graphic link below:
